Over 100 Texans have become sick with measles recently. To protect our patients and staff, we ask that patients and caregivers avoid coming in to our clinics if they have been near someone with measles, have been diagnosed with measles, or have any symptoms of infection like a fever or a rash. If any of these apply to you and you have a visit booked, please contact your clinic to let them know and book a virtual visit (telehealth) instead. Learn more about how to recognize measles and what you can do to stay safe. View More Important Notifications x

Chronic Patients

Some cancer types, most often ovarian, chronic leukemia, and some lymphomas, are ongoing – they are never completely gone from your body. The term “chronic cancer” can also be used to describe cancers that have spread to other parts of your body.

Your doctor will closely monitor you to look for changes in your condition. Chronic cancers require ongoing treatment with scheduled breaks. These may be on a set schedule or on an ‘as needed’ basis. Treatment options include chemotherapy or radiation therapy, either separately or together. A clinical trial may also be an option.

The American Cancer Society offers several resources for patients with a chronic cancer.
