Education
Katie received her BSN from Texas Tech University in 1998, and her MSN while living and working in Miami, FL. at Barry University in 2008. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with additional certifications as an advanced oncology certified nurse practitioner and certification in radiation oncology.
Accolades & Memberships
Katie enjoys helping continue to expand the nurse practitioner role in radiation oncology and is a mentor for new nurse practitioners. She currently serves as one of four committee members for the Advanced Practice Provider Executive Committee for Texas Oncology.
She is the present president of the Dallas Board of Oncology Nursing Society. She is a current faculty member of US Oncology’s APP bootcamp. Katie has lectured locally and nationally on a vast array of topics regarding the care of cancer patients receiving radiation therapy in their management.
She is the 2018 recipient of the Texas Oncology Excellence in Clinical Care Advanced Practice Provider award and was selected as one of the 2019 DFW Great 100 nurses. She is a member of Oncology Nurses Society, American Society for Radiation Oncology and Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology.
