Texas Oncology–McKinney Opens New Facility and Adds Texas Urology Specialists

More Comfortable and Convenient Location for Patients

Texas Oncology–McKinney today announced the relocation of its current practice as well as the addition of Texas Urology Specialists–McKinney, a part of Texas Oncology, to provide more space for patient care and comfort, and easier access for inpatient services. The 17,500-square-foot facility is on the first floor of the recently-opened Baylor Medical Center at McKinney, located at the northwest corner of Highway 380 and Lake Forest Drive.

Texas Oncology–McKinney physicians have helped Collin County patients fight cancer since 2005. Patients will have access to expanded services, including comprehensive urologic care through the addition of Texas Urology Specialists. The new facility also provides patients with new amenities, such as Wi-Fi access and chemotherapy massage chairs, creating a more comfortable setting.

“Our new facility will allow us to provide services to more patients in a larger, patient-friendly facility,” said Mike Marino, practice director at Texas Oncology–McKinney. “Patients from McKinney and the surrounding communities can trust that they will receive the most advanced treatments in our state-of-the-art facility.”

Texas Oncology–McKinney continues to offer medical oncology, chemotherapy, full lab services, hematology, a mobile PET/CT scanner, on-site full service pharmacy, and will now also provide urologic services in one convenient location. Patients will have access to clinical trial participation from Phase I to Phase IV. Medical Oncologists Monte Jones, Nithya Palanisamy, and Nandita Rao will continue to treat patients at the McKinney practice.

Two physicians specializing in urology have joined Texas Urology Specialists:

Dr. Frances Herbert earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va., and completed her residency in urology at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She also serves patients at Texas Urology Specialists–Plano. Dr. Herbert specializes in female urology.

Dr. Mark Norris received his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and completed his internship in general surgery and residency in urology at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston.

Texas Urology Specialists provides comprehensive urologic care including pre-screening, testing, diagnosis, ongoing care, and treatment of both cancerous and non-cancerous conditions for men and women. Physicians test and treat infertility, incontinence, prostate disease, urinary tract conditions, and more.

“The new facility in McKinney provides expanded services within our community, allowing Texas Urology Specialists to enhance the quality of care and provide comprehensive urologic services,” said Frances Herbert, M.D., urologist with Texas Urology Specialists–McKinney.

“For those undergoing treatment for urologic cancer, they can now receive all of their care in one convenient location,” said Mark Norris, M.D., urologist with Texas Urology Specialists–McKinney.
