Ronald P. Williams, M.D.

General Summary

Ronald P. Williams, M.D., specializes in sarcoma and orthopaedic oncology. Prior to joining Texas Oncology, Dr. Williams served as professor, interim chairman, chairman, and residency program director for the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Williams has also held a number of academic, consultancy, and surgical positions at several well-known institutions such as Brooke Army Medical Center, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital, and Methodist Children’s Hospital, all in San Antonio; and McAllen Medical Center, among others. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he served as faculty advisor for many pre-and post-doctoral students and authored and co-authored numerous research papers about sarcomas, bone cancers, surgical techniques, and limb salvage.

Education

Dr. Williams received a doctorate in anatomy in 1980 and his medical degree in 1984 from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita, Kansas. He completed a fellowship in orthopaedic oncology in 1990 at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship in molecular biology in 1981 at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
