John Nemunaitis, M.D.

General Summary

John J. Nemunaitis, M.D., previously held academic positions at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the University of Washington School of Medicine. Currently, he is director of the Mary Crowley Medical Research Center, director of The US Oncology Network Phase I Research Program, and directs two clinical support laboratories: the John T. Mallams Gene Sequencing Laboratory and The US Oncology Network Gene Transduction Cell Processing Facility. He edits for 22 journals and has contributed chapters to 29 books; he has authored over 177 papers in his area of special interest: molecular targeting for cancer therapy.


Dr. Nemunaitis received an M.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Ohio, in 1982. He completed training in internal medicine at Boston City Hospital, in 1985 and a fellowship in oncology and hematology at University of Washington School of Medicine and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, in 1988.
