John T. Gwozdz, M.D.

John Gwozdz, M.D. specializes in radiation oncology and is certified by the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Gwozdz was Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University from 1997-2003 and was Primary Investigator for Radiation Therapy Oncology Group in 1999 for the Harrington Cancer Center in Amarillo, Texas.

Dr. Gwozdz graduated with honors in Chemistry from the University of Arizona. He received his medical degree with honors from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1992. He  was a transitional resident at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 1992-1993 and a radiation oncology resident at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, from 1993 to 1997, where he was honored as chief resident in 1996. He was in private practice in Amarillo, Texas from 1997 to 2003, where he was selected by his peers as one of the Best Doctors in America 2001-2012, before joining the Palestine Cancer Center, which is affiliated with Texas Oncology. He continued his affiliation with Texas Oncology by returning to Amarillo in April 2008.

Dr. Gwozdz was born in Illinois and moved to Arizona, where he met his wife, Gina. They have one daughter. When they have time to relax, the Gwozdzs enjoy taking walks, playing in the park and various lake activities.

Accolades & Memberships

Dr. Gwozdz was a faculty selectee to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medica School Honor Society in 1992. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies in college.
