His internship in internal medicine was completed at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas in 1998, and in 2002 he completed his residency at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. In 2003 Dr. Barker completed a fellowship in head & neck cancer radiation oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
