Texas Oncology is How Texans Fight Cancer®

At Texas Oncology, we believe that doing the right thing is not only possible, it is essential. For our patients, ourselves, and our communities. Doing the right thing requires a culture that empowers our team to deliver the best patient care with compassion and integrity.

That driving force has resulted in growth and expansion, including building our team of physicians and staff members, treating more patients than ever before, and continuing to identify innovative treatment options through our robust research program.

By the Numbers

For more than 30 years Texas Oncology has provided treatment and hope to people throughout the state. We remain laser-focused on fighting cancer across Texas and as a result, we’ve added 35 new physicians to our growing team of more than 420, treating more than 50,000 patients in 2017 alone.

New Cancer Center and Clinical Trials in San Antonio

In addition to the many new physicians and specialists available and dedicated to Texas Oncology patients across the state, a new, 40,000 square foot cancer center opened in San Antonio, supporting patients through leading-edge imaging and radiation treatment technology as well as advanced medical and surgical oncology services. The new facility has seven procedure rooms, eight lab rooms, 52 chemotherapy chairs, and more than 30 exam rooms. It offers patients access to innovative treatment options through a number of open clinical trials. Additionally, patients benefit from an on-site pharmacy and an outdoor healing garden. It is designed to provide complete outpatient cancer treatment services for patients in the San Antonio area.

Innovation-Driven Research

Research plays an important role in continually improving cancer care and Texas Oncology has more than 150 open clinical trials at any given time, and our physicians are regular authors of scientific papers and presenters at major oncology conferences annually. As an active member of US Oncology Research, Texas Oncology has helped develop nearly 70 FDA-approved cancer-fighting drugs, about one-third of the cancer therapies approved by the FDA to date.

Our Promise

Our community-based approach enables Texas Oncology patients to receive quality care close to home. That’s especially important during the holidays, but we support patients in many ways all year long. 12 Days and Many Ways highlights just a few of them. At Texas Oncology, our promise is that patients are at the center of everything we do.
