Breast and Lung Cancer Screening in Paris

Texas Oncology-Paris now conveniently provides cancer screenings for breast and lung cancer in collaboration with Paris Regional Medical Center. Screenings are tests or exams that can help diagnose a disease before symptoms are present. When it comes to cancer, screening exams can help identify the disease in its earliest stages — when treatment will be most effective.

Who should get screened for breast cancer?
It is recommended that women over the age of 40 begin having a regular mammogram to screen for breast cancer. Additional breast cancer screenings include:

  • Annual clinical breast exams
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
  • Predictive genetic testing

Who should get screened for lung cancer?
People ages 55-74 should consider a yearly low-dose CT scan to screen for lung cancer if they:

  • Have a history of heavy smoking
  • Currently smoke
  • Have quit smoking in the past 15 years.
