Doctors Warn At-Home DNA Breast Cancer Test May Not Offer ‘Full Picture’

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently approved an at-home genetic testing kit to screen for breast cancer risk, but Elisabeth King from Texas Oncology-Austin Central says results may not give women the full picture of their cancer risk. King counsels women to get comprehensive DNA screening in addition to the at-home test, noting about half the patients Texas Oncology follows for high-risk have negative genetic testing.
