UVALDE, Texas, May 23, 2016 – Texas Oncology announces that Slavisa Gasic, M.D., Ph.D., has joined the practice as a full-time medical oncologist at Texas Oncology-Uvalde. Dr. Gasic specializes in medical oncology and hematology. He is seeing patients at the clinic at 1195 Garner Field Road, Building A, Suite 200.

Santiago, M.D., who has been leading the Texas Oncology-Uvalde team. “Today we have more tools to help patients that ever before, and with the addition of Dr. Gasic as a full-time oncologist in Uvalde we will continue to improve access to care for residents, bringing them comprehensive treatment and compassionate cancer care close to the support of family and loved ones.
As a full-time medical oncologist seeing patients in Uvalde, I am eager to help fulfill the healthcare needs of the community,” said Dr. Gasic. “Patients here will have improved access to oncology and hematology services. As result our patients remain close to their support network of family and friends.
Dr. Gasic received his medical degree is from the University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia. He has a doctorate of philosophy in pharmacology from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed his fellowship in hematology and oncology at the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and residency in internal medicine at the University of Buffalo, Buffalo, New York. He also completed a research fellowship in endocrinology at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. In addition, he is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
