Texas Center for Proton Therapy’s Dr. Daniel Hamstra, a radiation oncologist specializing in proton therapy, was invited to speak at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) conference, September 25–27, 2016. With more than 11,000 attendees annually, highlights from this year’s event include the latest in ground-breaking research and a variety of educational presentations from industry experts.
At the conference, held in Boston, Mass., Dr. Hamstra presented, “Continued Benefit to Rectal Separation for Prostate RT: Final Results of a phase III trial,” highlighting innovative tissue-sparing techniques for prostate cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy. Dr. Hamstra is an international expert in radiation oncology, with research grants and awards from many organizations, including ASTRO.
ASTRO has more than 10,000 members, including physicians, nurses, biologists, physicists, radiation therapists, dosimetrists, and healthcare professionals, all specializing in radiation therapy treatment.
