Born in Savannah, Dr. Loar graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Psychology. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his residency in Ob/Gyn at the University of Florida College of Medicine Jacksonville, where he stayed on as faculty prior to completing his fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Michigan, a national pioneer in robotic surgery.

Dr. Loar is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a candidate member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists. Miller Society and the Travis County Medical Society.
