Matei Socoteanu, M.D., Newest Physician to Join Texas Oncology–Longview Cancer Center

Dr. Matei P. Socoteanu, a specialist in medical oncology, has joined the leading-edge cancer care team at Texas Oncology–Longview Cancer Center. Texas Oncology has cancer treatment facilities throughout communities in Texas and southeastern New Mexico.
Dr. Socoteanu received his Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La. He went on to receive a medical doctorate from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he was selected for the position of chief resident. Dr. Socoteanu completed his fellowship in medical oncology at Scott and White Healthcare in Temple, Texas.
Dr. Socoteanu graduated from high school in Shreveport, La., and he has said that joining the Longview practice feels like a homecoming.

We know his expertise will enhance the quality of care we provide,” said Dr. Bill Taylor, a radiation oncologist at Texas Oncology–Longview Cancer Center.
Dr. Socoteanu is board certified in internal medicine and board eligible in medical oncology. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, Texas Society of Medical Oncology, and Texas Medical Association.
