Texas Oncology Opens New Comprehensive Cancer Center in Cleburne

Sandhya Bejjanki, M.D., and Thanh Nguyen, M.D., To Lead Cancer CenterTexas Oncology announces the opening of a new comprehensive cancer center in Cleburne led by Dr. Sandhya Bejjanki, a specialist in medical oncology and hematology, and Dr. Thanh Nguyen, a radiation oncologist, on August 3, 2009. Texas Oncology has cancer treatment facilities throughout communities in Texas and southeastern New Mexico.
At Texas Oncology–Cleburne, physicians help local patients fight their battles with cancer in a state-of-the-art, supportive environment. Patients now have access to advanced technologies and treatments right in their own community. Texas Oncology–Cleburne offers chemotherapy, radiation, PET and CT diagnostic imaging, and lab services in one convenient location.
Dr. Bejjanki received her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the Kakatiya Medical College, NTR University of Health Services in India. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. Dr. Bejjanki completed her fellowship in hematology and oncology at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. After completing her fellowship, she was an assistant professor in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Feist Weiller Cancer Center at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. Dr. Bejjanki is board certified in medical oncology, hematology, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Radiation oncology services will also be available to patients and will be administered by Dr. Thanh Nguyen, radiation oncologist, Texas Oncology–Weatherford and Cleburne, at the new location. Services will include 3D and IMRT radiation therapy and PET and CT diagnostic imaging.
Dr. Nguyen specializes in adult radiation oncology and received his Bachelor of Medicine degree from University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed his internship in internal medicine at Ochsner Hospital and Clinics in New Orleans and residency in radiation oncology at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City. Dr. Nguyen is board certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology.
