In October, the color pink is attached to everything in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The attention given to breast cancer, along with increased screenings and better treatments, has helped more patients survive breast cancer than ever before.
Unfortunately, the statistics in Texas make breast cancer awareness and screening more important than ever. This year alone, the Texas Cancer Registry estimates that breast cancer will claim the lives of more than 2,700 Texans and more than 15,000 new cases will be diagnosed in the state.
