The Amarillo Blood and Marrow Transplant Program has been designated as an official National Marrow Donor Program transplant center. This program's the largest and most diverse donor list in the world.
Patients in Amarillo and the Panhandle will now have access to more than 9 million donors, giving them a better chance to find a genetic match.
This makes the Amarillo blood and marrow transplant program only one of 132 programs to join the registry.
Blood and marrow transplants treat several diseases including leukemia. And those patients in our area don't have to go far to get the access they need to donors.
Our program was selected because of it's experience, training, and data from transplant patients.
