Thomas E. Hutson, DO, PharmD. specializes in medical oncology. Dr. Huston received a B.S. with honors from Ohio Northern University in 1993. He received his D.O. (Phi Kappa Phi) from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio in 1997. He received his PharmD with high distinction in 2002 from Ohio Northern University, Ada Ohio. He served as Adjunct Professor of Pharmacy in 2001-2003 at the Raabe College of Pharmacy, Ada, Ohio. He completed his post-doctoral training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio completing his Internship in 1998, Internal Medicine Residency in 2000, Fellowship in Experimental Therapeutics in 2001, and in 2003 he completed his clinical fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology.

He is a member of several medical societies, including the American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, Dallas County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, American College of Physicians, American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Association for Cancer Research.
During his training at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio, he was the recipient of the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) Young Investigators Award in 2002, several competitive national fellowship awards including a Fellow Travel Award to speak at the Mayo Clinic Hematology/Oncology Review in 2001 and 2002. He was invited to present his research on Renal Cell Carcinoma at the International Kidney Cancer Association meeting in 2001 and at the National Cancer Institute CTEP meeting in 2001. His research in Genitourinary Cancers has resulted in several publications including chapters in medical textbooks on Prostate Cancer and Renal Cell Carcinoma. He is a member of the Medical Advisory Board for the Kidney Cancer Association.
Upon joining Texas Oncology, P.A. in 2003 he became a member of The US Oncology Network GU Research Committee.
