R. Steven Paulson, M.D.

R. Steven Paulson, M.D. specializes in medical oncology and hematology. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine with board certification in internal medicine and medical oncology. Dr. Paulson was a member of the Texas Oncology Board of Directors from 1986-1990 and has served as its President and Chairman since 2000.

Dr. Paulson received an M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas in 1977. He received training in internal medicine at Harvard Medical school at Peter Brent Brigham Hospital and completed training in internal medicine at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, where he also did a fellowship in hematology and oncology. Dr. Paulson received additional training at the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, Washington, in 1982.

Member, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Texas Medical Association, American College of Physicians; served on the Texas Society of Medical Oncology Board of Directors and as president of that organization in 1991.
