Texas Oncology in San Antonio

Texas Oncology in the San Antonio area is comprised of a team of 33 physicians, offering treatment at 16 locations, including four comprehensive cancer centers. Texas Oncology–San Antonio offers medical oncology, radiation oncology, gynecologic oncology, breast surgery, surgical oncology, and hematology. The practice provides the full spectrum of oncology and hematology care including laboratory services, diagnostic evaluation services (PET/CT, ultrasound, bone densitometry), specialty drug pharmacy services, retail pharmacy services, clinical trials, outpatient chemotherapy, and outpatient radiation therapy including intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT).

Texas Oncology’s growing practice in San Antonio includes the area’s newest and largest comprehensive cancer center, located at 5206 Research Drive. The 40,000 square foot center includes seven procedure rooms and more than 30 exam rooms, with capacity to treat up to 300 patients per day. In addition to advanced surgical and medical oncology services, the center offers leading-edge radiation treatment and imaging technology.

Texas Oncology-San Antonio Medical Center

An expanded treatment center in Westover Hills offers breast surgery, gynecologic oncology, surgical oncology, and medical oncology.

Texas Oncology in San Antonio supports more than 275 patients in their participation in more than 60 clinical  trials, with experienced physicians working to innovate in breast, hematologic, lung, and other types of cancers. The expanding research program includes Phase I, II, and III studies, and numerous trials of immunotherapies, which are revolutionizing cancer treatment. Patients also are involved in research of breakthroughs such as vaccines for high risk breast cancer.

Texas Oncology–San Antonio is a leader in anticoagulation treatment, offering a complete anticoagulation and thrombosis management service.

Texas Oncology–San Antonio is a designated center of excellence by the Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation, offering advanced treatment for this bone marrow failure disorder.

Texas Oncology’s Genetic Risk Evaluation and Testing Program, offered at all San Antonio area locations, provides an in-depth cancer risk assessment for individuals with a significant personal and/or family history of cancer.
