Medical Oncology

The medical oncologists in the Rio Grande Valley monitor and evaluate their patients’ progress, collaborating with other medical professionals to determine treatment options and consulting with patients to help them make informed decisions about their treatment.

Surgical Oncology

The Texas Oncology Surgical Specialists–Harlingen physician team provides innovative, minimally-invasive surgical options to diagnose, stage, and treat breast, esophageal, gastric, colon and rectal, melanoma, and other cancers.

Radiation Therapy

The radiation therapy team at Texas Oncology includes radiation oncologists as well as physicists and dosimetrists who calculate precise dosages of radiation to ensure therapy is tailored to each patient. Texas Onocology also works closely with external research organizations to provide clinical trials in radiation therapy to patients and support the development of novel radiotherapy approaches against cancer.

Community Involvement

At Texas Oncology–Rio Grande Valley, community involvement is important. We host cancer screening events for local businesses, provide free meals to cancer patients in partnership with McAllen non-profit Infinite Love, and participate in scholarship golf tournaments benefitting high school students in the Rio Grande Valley.

Many of our Rio Grande Valley physicians are active in research and have enrolled patients in clinical trials over the last 25 years.
