Founded in 1986, Texas Oncology is a pioneer in high quality community-based cancer care. Texas Oncology is an independent oncology practice with more than 530 physicians and 280 sites of service across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma, including 55 comprehensive cancer centers. Our practice includes 319 medical oncologists, 65 radiation oncologists, 31 gynecologic oncologists, 162 surgeons, and more than 200 advanced practice providers. Texas Oncology’s community-based approach of integrated subspecialty oncology care enables patients to receive leading-edge treatment while living at home and receiving the critical support of family and friends. More than 71,000 new cancer patients were seen at Texas Oncology last year.

Texas Oncology uses evidence based best practices to guide patient treatment across the network in a program known as Pathways, in collaboration with the National Cancer Collaborative Network.
Texas Oncology physicians use these Pathways and programs to support genetic risk assessment, disease management, cancer survivorship, and advance care planning to improve the quality of the patients’ cancer journey. At our comprehensive cancer centers, our patients access much of their treatment under one roof from a knowledgeable and supportive cancer care team, including chemotherapy, patient navigation, social services, financial consultation, radiation, access to clinical trials, X-rays, PET, CT, other diagnostic imaging, lab, and pharmacy services.
Chimeric Antigen Receptor – T cell (CAR-T) therapy, which galvanizes the body’s immune system to fight cancer, is one of the most promising treatment breakthroughs in recent years. Texas Oncology is one of the very few authorized centers in the country to initially provide CAR-T therapy.

Patients who are treated at Texas Oncology have the opportunity to participate in some of the most promising national clinical trials for a broad range of cancers. Texas Oncology is a primary participant in US Oncology Research, which has played a role in more than 100 FDA-approved therapies.

Texas Center for Proton Therapy in Irving, Texas, provides physicians another advanced radiation treatment option. The center offers pencil-beam scanning and image-guided proton therapy, treating cancer with proton beams as small as two millimeters wide. The technology targets cancer cells with extreme precision, while minimizing damage to healthy tissue and allowing many patients to maintain quality of life during and after treatment.
