About Our Location

At Texas Oncology-Austin Midtown Radiation Oncology, we recognize that you want to marshal every resource in your fight against cancer. Each component, from the facility design and the excellent staff, to the teamwork and the latest technology, is optimized to provide the best possible patient experience and outcome. We have two fully-equipped, state-of-the-art linear accelerators (Varian 21ix) with identical parameters. This technology ensures consistency, precision and markedly reduced treatment waiting times.

Timothy Dziuk, M.D., is an experienced board-certified radiation oncologist who is committed to current, well researched, evidence-based radiation treatments. His priority is to balance your personal philosophy with the need to control your disease and manage side effects. Dr. Dziuk is editor of Commonly Prescribed Medications in Radiation Oncology, currently in its 9th edition. Consults are usually scheduled within 1–2 days of an initial call to our office. Each consult is paced to allow time for explanation of your disease and treatment options, and to address patient questions and concerns.

Treatments are designed using virtual CT-simulation (allowing us to directly see internal treatment targets as well as the normal tissues we wish to spare). External irradiation is delivered using a customized treatment plan that may include three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy, intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) or stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT). Targeting accuracy is achieved with the latest techniques, including image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT). Our team also has extensive expertise in High Dose Rate Brachytherapy. Using implants for localized radiation delivery enables increased cure rates and/or decreased treatment times for prostate, breast (using MammoSite®, Contoura® and SAVI™) and gynecological tumors.
