J. Ernest Sims serves as executive director of Texas Oncology, overseeing its financial and administrative operations. He is actively involved in development and strategic planning for the practice and works closely with the Texas Oncology Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Mr. Sims received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and his Master of Business Administration from University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
Prior to joining Texas Oncology, Mr. Sims served as a certified public accountant and senior manager for Arthur Andersen & Co., managing clients in healthcare, regulated industries, and technology. He joined Texas Oncology in 1987 as the director of finance.
Mr. Sims currently serves on the Board of Directors of Leukemia Texas, the financial committee of Good Shepherd Episcopal School in Dallas, Texas, and is a lifetime board member of the North Texas chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. He has previously served as a board member, treasurer, and chairman of the North Texas chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, and as a board member and chairman of the finance committee of Good Shepherd Episcopal School.
